Gastroenterologist

Dr Mark Lust is a consultant gastroenterologist and endoscopist. He graduated with honours from Monash University and completed his basic physician training at the Alfred Hospital. He undertook specialist training in Gastroenterology at Box Hill, The Royal Melbourne and St. Vincent’s Hospitals and was admitted to the Royal College of Physicians in 2005. Mark was awarded a PhD by the University of Melbourne in 2008 for his research in the field of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. In 2009, he completed a Clinical Fellowship at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, UK, before returning to clinical practice in Melbourne.

Mark’s special interest lies in the management of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis) but he maintains a broad range of interests in all other areas of gastroenterology and hepatology, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy, coeliac disease, reflux disease, functional bowel disorders and liver diseases.

Mark is a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia and he regularly attends and speaks at local meetings as well as national and international conferences. He is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and maintains an interest in clinical research. 

Mark is a Staff Gastroenterologist at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne and consults privately at 100 Victoria Parade, East Melbourne as well as Hobson Healthcare in Werribee. Mark admits private patients to St. Vincent’s Private Hospital Fitzroy. Endoscopy is performed at Epworth Freemasons Day Procedure Centre and at Hobson Healthcare in Werribee . Together with Dr Ashley Miller, Mark co-founded Focus Gastroenterology in 2014.
